Most recommendation engines rely on collaborative filtering: they show you what people similar to you bought. That works for commodity products, but fails for deeply personal decisions like choosing a wellness protocol, planning a trip that matches your energy level, or finding a financial strategy that fits your risk personality.

FlairMingo takes a fundamentally different approach. Instead of watching what you click, we ask you to describe who you are across a handful of intuitive priorities in each module, and then we pick products that genuinely fit who you are. We call this Taste-Driven Search.

Each of FlairMingo's six modules, Wellbeing, Hobbies, Home, Travel, Gifts, and Beauty, defines its own set of six trait dimensions calibrated to the decisions that matter most in that domain. For example:

• Wellbeing: Calm, Energy, Sleep, Strength, Mental Health, Look Younger
• Hobbies: Creative, Active, Social, Relaxing, Challenging, Hands-On
• Travel: Adventure, Culture, Relaxation, Luxury, Nature, Social
• Home: Comfort, Style, Organisation, Sustainability, Entertainment, Smart Tech
• Gifts: Thoughtfulness, Luxury, Experience, Practical, Unique, Budget

When you drag the interactive profiler sliders, you're shaping a personal profile, your Flair Print, that captures what matters most to you right now. This profile is the starting point for every recommendation you receive.

Every product in our catalogue is scored against the same qualities you care about before it reaches your results. The scoring is AI-assisted, and our team checks each batch before it goes live.

When you finish your taste profile, our ranking engine compares your priorities against every product and ranks them mainly by fit: how closely something fits what you want, not by who pays us. A product that is quietly perfect for you will always beat one that is merely impressive.

These are the main things that decide what you see first, starting with the biggest:

• Your taste profile: how closely an item fits the priorities you set. This is the biggest factor everywhere.
• What it's for: in some categories, such as Wellbeing and Beauty, how well a product does its job also counts.
• Optional details about you: if you give your age bracket or gender, they adjust results a little. "Prefer not to say" removes them.
• What you've shown you like: brands you love, follow, save or turn down, and things you've saved.
• Your search words: in search, how closely an item matches what you typed. Where AI answers are switched on, an AI model re-orders the shortlist using the same signals.
• Brand recognition: when ranking brands (not products), how widely known a brand is plays a small part.
• Where to buy: shops are listed in a standard order for your country, with your preferred shop first if you've starred one.

Never used: payment for placement, sponsorship, or how much commission we earn.

Raw product rankings are just the first step. FlairMingo organises its catalogue using a Products → Protocols hierarchy, where individual products (a specific supplement, a specific course, a specific gadget) are grouped under higher-order Protocols: curated combinations designed to work together.

For example, in the Wellbeing module, a "Deep Sleep Protocol" might combine a magnesium supplement, a sleep tracker, and a guided wind-down audio programme. Your profile determines not only which individual products rank highest, but which protocols represent the best holistic fit. This produces recommendations that are greater than the sum of their parts.

After your initial results appear, the Trait Tuner lets you adjust individual priorities with interactive sliders and watch your recommendations re-rank in real time. Dragging "Energy" up and "Calm" down instantly reshuffles the product order, so you can feel the trade-offs as you make them.

This gives you an intuitive, tactile way to explore what you really want. As you adjust, the list responds to your priorities in the moment.

The more you use FlairMingo, the sharper your results get. Your saves, comparisons, and Decision Board choices quietly help us understand your taste, so your recommendations keep improving without you ever having to start over.

Importantly, this stays tied to your own account. It is used only to improve what you see, never to shape anyone else's recommendations.

Recommendations show a % fit figure, so you can see at a glance how well each one fits. Nobody can pay to rank higher, and commission rates are never an input to the order you see.

We earn a commission when you buy through some of our links, but commission isn't one of the things we rank by: what a retailer pays never changes an item's % fit, its place in the list, or the order of the shops we list.
